Community Writing Center
In Spring 2022, the Jones White Writing Center is spearheading a new Community WRiting Center initiative. This will include six workshops and two open tutoring events. For more information on this new initiative, please see the Jones White Writing Center’s website.
Community Service Learning
While at Oakland University, I spent five semesters teaching WRT 320: Peer Tutoring in Composition at the Baldwin Center in Pontiac, MI. There, as part of our normal coursework, we tutored low-income and minority children and adolescents. In the past, I also partnered with Macomb Literacy Partners and Detroit Reads.
My current project (postponed till the end of the pandemic) is creating a community writing center, in partnership with the Indiana PA Free Library. Our goal is to have volunteer tutoring for community members for any kind of writing.

I am occasionally available for pro-bono consultation on grant projects (specialization in sustainable agriculture), literacy tutoring training, and other community-supported initiatives.
